What difference does Heritage Place make?

  • If Heritage Place closed nearly 1400 people would be forced to urgently address critical needs.
  • We provide a unique combination of in-home services and center-based activities.

What are the Benefits to the Community?

  • Economic - Shop locally, stable living (move into a home and stay in that home), take care of property
  • Crime/Safety - don’t commit crimes, participate in crime watch, watch the “comings and goings” near where they live, no wild parties
  • Volunteer - at church and for other not-for-profits, (i.e. museum docents, theatre ushers, boards of directors, hospital information desks)
  • Political - vote, read newspapers
  • Unknown - When someone is helped, they are more likely to help others. Who can know all the good things those we help are involved in or responsible for? Perhaps just being able to converse with a grandchild/any child about computers may lead to that child being open to taking good advice from this older adult, which in turn helps the child avoid consequences from a bad decision. We cannot measure or define the unknown benefits of helping others
